In recognition of the special hazards facing construction workers, New York State Labor Law holds the owners and contractors of construction sites responsible for accidents involving workers who are injured in falls from scaffolds and ladders and workers who are injured by falling construction material. Asta Law represented a subway tunnel worker who was struck by a boulder that fell from an excavating machine. The worker sustained an injury to his knee, requiring knee surgery and rehabilitation. $600,000 was obtained to compensate the injured worker for his injuries.
