Asta Law represented a union mason in one such case who was injured while working on the construction of a school when a wooden pallet used to hold construction materials fell on him. The worker sustained injuries to his shoulder and neck, requiring reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation. The worker was unable to return to work due to his injuries. This worker’s case was brought under the Labor Law of New York State.
When the insurance company for the general contractor of the Jobsite refused to settle, the case was tried before a jury and a verdict in favor of our client was obtained. Following a favorable decision by the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, which upheld our client’s jury award, Asta Law negotiated a $6,400,000 settlement. The settlement compensates the injured worker for his injuries, his pain and suffering, lost income, and his future medical care.
